Duct cleaning and fan service

One of the most common causes of poor indoor air quality is malfunctioning ventilation systems. There is often little interest in servicing technical installations at home, which contributes to impairing both the function and service life of the systems.

Service and maintenance

To ensure and maintain optimal operation and preserve the lifespan of your ventilation system, service and maintenance are important. Over time, dust and dirt accumulate in the ducts, causing the system to function more poorly and less efficiently. This can lead to higher power consumption and a poorer indoor climate.

Ventilation pipes above ventilators in the kitchen are particularly vulnerable as they can accumulate grease and dirt from cooking. Failure to clean these pipes can increase the risk of fire.

Compared to our cars, hardly a car is sold today without air conditioning. In most cases, these contain filters that help to clean the air. If the air conditioning stops working, the car will most likely be taken to a workshop.

In our homes, where we spend considerably more time than in our cars, we don't think much about air quality. A poorly maintained ventilation system can in itself be a problem for air quality; indeed, the air can be worse than it was without ventilation.

The adjustment, i.e. the settings made when the system is installed, is also very important for the effect of the system to be good. Some other common problem areas are:

Filters that are dirty result in a higher pressure drop and thus higher energy consumption. Old filters are dirty filters, so a filter needs to be changed about twice a year to effectively fulfil its function. Changing filters is easy, about as easy as changing a vacuum cleaner bag.

Low separation filters can cause dirt and microorganisms to accumulate in the supply air ducts and spread from there.

Dirt accumulated in the ventilation system can also eventually cause airflows to become too low, so it is very important to keep the ventilation system clean.

Switching off the fans at night can also cause contamination to spread through the duct system.

Moisture problems can be caused by poor rain protection at outdoor air devices or condensation in ducts due to poor insulation.

The best thing is to never let these types of issues arise, as with most problems they are difficult to fix once they are there. The easiest way to prevent these things is to maintain your ventilation system regularly as you do the rest of your house.

For a system to function properly, all service and maintenance instructions must be regularly updated.

The ventilation system contains filters to extract dust and dirt from the air. When these filters become full of dust, it's time to replace them.

If this is not done, the pipes in the ventilation system will be filled with dust and dirt. Filters with low separation can cause dirt and microorganisms to accumulate in the supply air ducts and spread from there. It is recommended to change the filter twice a year. This can easily be done yourself.

When the ventilation system is serviced, the system is inspected, cleaned and adjusted. This ensures optimal operation and preserves the life of the system. Through inspection, any faults or deficiencies in the system will be revealed.

We can set up service agreements so that you don't have to worry about when the system needs to be maintained. For a system to function properly, all service and maintenance instructions must be regularly updated.
