8 tips to ensure that your ventilation units work optimally in cold weather

Winter has arrived in earnest in large parts of Norway with snow and very low temperatures. Perhaps your customers with balanced ventilation systems have questions about how to take care of their ventilation units in winter?
On our website, we've shared 8 tips on what to do when the temperature outside gets really low:

1. Do not touch the settings. The ventilation system is adjusted to work as well as possible by those who have installed it.

2. Increase the speed of the system if there is increased moisture in the home. E.g. showering, clothes drying etc.

3. Use clean original filters. Flexit cannot guarantee that unoriginal filters will function optimally in Flexit units. Check that the filters you have are clean and not clogged. The filters should be replaced at least 1-2 times a year.

4. Set the temperature 1-2 degrees lower than the temperature you want inside. The air will then circulate better in your home.

5. It is perfectly normal for the unit to ice up a little when it is very cold outside. This will disappear on its own. Don't keep opening the unit to check if the ice is still there, it will only make the ice worse. Do not switch off the unit, as there is a risk of condensation in the duct system.

6. Clean the air intake if it is blocked by snow/ice.

7. Do not run the system at minimum/lowest speed.

8. Read the user manual of the appliance for maintenance.
